How it is counted
The calculator counts calendar days between the two dates. Each date is treated as a whole day in UTC, so your time zone and daylight saving changes do not affect the result. Leap years are included, so the days from 1 January 2024 to 1 January 2025 come to 366.
By default the start date is day 0, so 1 January to 31 January is 30 days. Tick the box to include the end date as well, which gives 31.
Questions
Does the count include the start and end dates?
Not by default. The result is the number of days that pass from the start date to the end date. Tick "Include end date" to count both dates.
What happens if the end date is earlier?
The result is shown as a positive number, with a note that the end date comes before the start date.
How does "Days until" work?
It counts from today's date on your device to the date you pick. Dates in the past are shown as "days ago".
